Mysuru: Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha has announced the date of launch of much awaited new flight to Mangaluru, from Mysuru airport.
He said that, Alliance Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India Limited is commencing direct flight operations from Mysuru to Mangaluru, from December 10. The flight will operate on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
72-seater aircraft (9I 532) will depart Mysuru airport at 11.15am and arrive at Mangaluru airport at 12.15 pm. In return direction, it will leave Mangaluru at 12.40 pm and arrive at Mysuru airport at 1.40 pm.
Mysuru airport sources said that the airlines is adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Required precautionary measures are being taken within the aircraft as well at the time of check-in, boarding and arrival at the destination.
"The bus journey from Mysuru to Mangaluru is tedious as it takes nearly eight hours. The new flight will save a lot of time," said Suma, a native of Mangaluru, who lives with her family in Mysuru after her marriage.
