Teachers Day has been initiated as a mark of respect to the teachers by the then government on the birthday of Sarvepally Radhakrishnan, a teacher and former President of India.
Respect comes due to its sanctity of the profession not merely by obtaining concerned degree. Shocking to read the report in newspapers and electronic media about the beastly act of some teachers i.e sexual assault of innocent students in recent times. It shows the real colour of the so-called respected professionals.
With such criminal and beastly traits, they have spoiled the sanctity of teaching profession by unacceptable acts. Therefore, the Education Department and the government as well as civil society must frame strict rules to punish the culprits, to save innocent students.
