Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) commissioner, N.Manjunath Prasad here on Saturday said that in the first phase, Covid-19 vaccine will be given to health workers, while in the second phase, frontline workers, including BBMP staffers, teachers, police personnel, revenue officers will be vaccinated. "In the third phase, the vaccine will be given to persons who are 50 years of age and above followed by those who are under 50 years of age identified as per the voter list," Prasad said.

Around 1,75,000 health workers have been enrolled in the Co-Win portal for vaccination in the city. Required personnel will be assigned to vaccinate at each vaccination centre.

The vaccination centres will have all kinds of basic amenities including vaccination, drinking water, seating chair, Wi-Fi, laptop / computer. Prasad said that 1,507 centres have been identified for vaccination within the municipal limits.

He has instructed the officials that ambulances and hospitals should be linked to each vaccination centre. Meanwhile, on Friday, it was reported that the dry run to assess the State's preparedness before the roll out of Covid vaccine faced technical glitches during the beneficiary's verification on the Co-Win portal.

The vaccination dry run was carried out at 263 places across the State.
