Best teachers feted at Gurupujotsavam
Ninety-eight ‘best teachers’ in Patancheru constituency were felicitated on Friday at a ‘Gurupujotsavam’ organised by local MLA G Mahipal Reddy with MEO PP Rathod in the chair.

The chief guests ZP chairperson Manjusri, Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy garlanded a portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and lit the traditional lamp to mark the inauguration.
The selected best teachers were presented with 'uttama puraskars', commendation letters and shawls. The MLA handed over to each teacher silk clothes. Cultural programmes presented by students of government schools at the function came in for praise. A festive atmosphere prevailed at the venue G M R Gardens.
Addressing the gathering, Mahipal Reddy said only teachers could ensure a bright future for their students. Reddy said he had been holding the function since 2001 after becoming an MPP.
Among those present were ZP vice-chairman Kunchala Prabhakar Yadav, ZPTC members Supraja Venkat Reddy, Gangula Sudhakar, Kumar Goud, MPPs Sushmasri, Erla Devanand, Siddhi Praveena, Ravinder Goud, Corporators Sindhu Adarsh Reddy, Thonta Anjayya, AMS chairperson Buragadda Pushpa Nagesh. TRS leaders Dasrath Reddy, Chandra Reddy, Bal Reddy, leaders of various teachers' organisations, headmasters and teachers.
