Alwal: A seven-year-old boy Jayant residing in a flat in Suvarna Residency on Road no 6 under Alwal police station limits was allegedly beaten up severely by a trader Kranthi Swaroop, who stays in the same building, for allegedly playing in the cellar, according to a complaint lodged by the Balala Hakkula Sangham honorary president Achyuta Rao with the Cyberabad Commissioner Sajjanar and Balanagar DCP Padmaja.

Rao intervened in the issue after the victim's family approached the Sangham. The complaint accused the trader of abusing the boy's mother in unprintable language. She demanded registration of an attempt to murder case against Swaroop and sought his immediate arrest. Rao wanted the trader's children to be shifted to Sishuvihar under government protection in view of possible reprisals.
