The XXXV DAE Sports & Cultural Meet 2019 - Basketball Tournament started on a flying note here on Sunday. In the opening match, Rameswaram bt Golconda (56-32 points).
DAE Colony: The XXXV DAE Sports & Cultural Meet 2019 - Basketball Tournament started on a flying note here on Sunday. In the opening match, Rameswaram bt Golconda (56-32 points). Eight teams (Ajanta, Ellora, Dwaraka, Golconda, Konark, Nagarjuna, Pushkar & Rameswaram) from DAE units spread all over India are taking part in the tournament.
Dr Dinesh Srivastava, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC, was the chief guest and Norman Swaroop Issac, Chairman, Technical Commission, Basketball Federation of India & General Secretary, Telangana Basket Ball Association, G N Ganesha, chairman, works committee, and Meena Ravindran, chairman, organizing committee, were present at the opening ceremony.
Dr Dinesh Srivastava spoke about the importance of the sports in one's life and keeps the body and mind fit and also requested the players to encourage young kids to take up sports, and educate the parents to encourage their wards in sports activities apart from studies.
