Kukatpally: The Revenue department staff on Friday demolished unauthorised houses in Raghavendra Society's FTL at Kaithalapur, amid tension with the residents opposing their action. There was heavy police deployment. The Revenue department's action shocked the residents.

The Revenue staff swooped on the area, woke up the residents before pulling down their dwellings. Locals people while speaking to The Hans India alleged that no notices were served to them before the demolition work was taken up.

They expressed ire at the Revenue staff for taking up sudden demolition of houses where they have been staying for the last ten years. Kukatpally MRO Nirmala told THI that strong action would be taken against those who built the houses, she explained that HUDA layout adjacent to the Kamuni Cheruvu was cancelled by the government. As many as 121 residents of the layout had taken up pattas and built houses which have been now demolished.
