Drunk and drive check in Hyderabad which was discontinued due to COVID-19 outbreak will be resumed from today. The decision has been taken by the city traffic police in the wake of the Christmas and New year Celebrations.

Starting from today, the drunk and drive checks in Hyderabad will be conducted every day until the New Year eve, said additional traffic commissioner of police Anil Kumar. The drunk and drive checks have already begun in Rachakonda and Cyberabad commissionerate limits.

The drunk and drive checks will be carried out by following all the COVID-19 measures. The traffic police will be using face shields while conducting the tests following physical distancing. Also, breathe analysers will be sanitized.

The traffic police will either levy fine or seize the vehicle if anyone caught driving in the drunk state. The police also advised the citizens to avoid drunk driving and cooperate with the traffic police.
