Attapur: As the Cultural extravaganza commences, Attapur Bengali Association, on Friday boisterously unveiled Durga Puja Utsav 2019 at SBR Gardens here. These five days of Durga Puja marks a magical celebration of not only the homecoming of Goddess Durga and her four children – Lakshmi, Saraswati, Kartik, and Ganesh but of art, creativity, and joy.
The puja premise has been decked up with idols and beautifully decorated pandal that caught everyone's attention. The festive atmosphere in the pandal attracted not just the Bengalis, but other citizens too. The next four days will witness some spectacular cultural performances by professional artists which will take over the festive spirit. The entire atmosphere echoed with the rhythmic beatings of the dhak combined with the sound of chants, creating an exceptional ambience.
The biggest and the most exciting carnival, Durga Puja is all about savouring the delicacies. While street snacking plays a vital role in the festivities, the garden area in ABA had a wide range of lip-smacking varieties showcasing the specialties of Bengali dishes such Rolls stuffed with chunky chicken or mutton, egg wrapped in flaky paranthas (Mughlai), Cutlets, Gugni etc.
There were people munching on the Bengal's favorite Puchka, relishing the deep-rooted experience. Durga puja is a heartfelt celebration that takes more than three months for organizers to plan and incorporate a wide range of social, creative, and environmental ideas. It is the perfect platform to create social and cultural awareness through various events and activities. Attapur Bengali Association has lots in store for the crowd to come, enjoy and socialize over various concerts and competitions.
Subir Roy, President of Attapur Bengali Association, said, "We are thankful to the whole community in Attapur for their wholehearted support. Also, we are thankful to sponsors, participants and all contributing to host this mega event at Attapur. We would like to invite you & be a part of our festivities as we celebrate our rich ethnic roots where this event stands for spiritual devoutness, cultural excellence, and social camaraderie."
Attapur Bengali Association (ABA), a non-profitable organisation, was established in 2017. The organization is dedicated to promoting the heritage of Bengali culture in the city by organizing various cultural, social, charitable, educational, and recreational programs throughout the year.
