Nizampet: The Kukatpally Traffic police with the help of gram panchayat officials of Nizampet and Bachupally, removed illegal encroachments from Nizampet junction to Bachupally. Till now, they have removed more than 200 illegal encroachments.

Encroachment of footpaths by the shops is a common sight here. Commuters have been complaining of encroachments and pedestrians too complained of lack of space.

It is a hindrance to commuters who are forced to park on the road which leads to traffic congestion said T Narsing Rao, Traffic Inspector while speaking to the Hans India here on Wednesday.

The traffic police along with executive officers of the gram panchayat of Nizampet and Bachupally had drawn up an action plan to remove all the footpath encroachments so as to ensure that the basement was used purposefully.

This removal operation began on March 30 and still in process. Furthermore, the Traffic Inspector said that this anti-encroachment drive would be continued as habitual offenders try to use the pavement for their commercial purpose by placing the flexi boards and cartages. The next areas for the removal of illegal encroachment would be taken up at Hydernagar, Nizampet village and Bachupally village, informed the officials.
