Ex-Servicemen rally held at AOC Centre
Ex-Servicemen (ESM) rally was organised by the AOC Centre here on Friday today under the aegis of Headquarters, Dakshin Bharat Area.
Secunderabad: Ex-Servicemen (ESM) rally was organised by the AOC Centre here on Friday today under the aegis of Headquarters, Dakshin Bharat Area. The rally aimed to strengthen the traditional bonds and solidarity amongst serving and retired soldiers. Around 1000 veterans including senior retired officers and Veer Naris attended the rally.
Lieutenant General ST Upasani, General Officer Commanding, expressed his gratitude to the Veterans, Veer Naris and their families, and re-assured them that they would always remain an inseparable part of the Armed Forces fraternity and their welfare would always be accorded importance and priority.
The children of Ex-Servicemen who excelled in academics also were felicitated on the occasion. Brigadier Abhijit Chandra, Deputy General Officer Commanding, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area, in his address appealed the veterans to spread discipline in the society and to motivate youth to join armed forces.
A number of stalls from various welfare agencies and organisations of the army and civil administration including Ex-Servicemen Grievances Cell, Recruitment Information Centre, Banking Awareness Counter (SBI and Andhra Bank) were also set up at the venue to facilitate and educate the Veterans on various new welfare schemes and initiatives.
