Garbage collection baskets distributed
Upa-sarpanch of Kardhanur village Vadde Kumar on Saturday said efforts were on to create awareness on the importance of rural sanitation, even while making people aware of maintaining their houses clean and green and not to dump garbage indiscriminately.

Speaking after distributing garbage collection baskets to villagers along with Panchayat Secretary Umarani, he described 'Swachhta' as a special programme being taken up across the country and that Kardhanur had won recognition for its Swachhta efforts.
Kumar called upon residents to cooperate and make more efforts to make the village better. He stressed on the need for villagers becoming aware of the utility value of garbage baskets. The upa sarpanch warned of stringent action by the panchayat if residents dumped garbage on roads.
Among those present on the occasion were ward members, 'Karobar' and several prominent persons.
