Historic Ganesh temple sees spike in online sales
Devotees have been using online services to book tickets for daily poojas, special sevas and prasadams at the Ganesh Temple near Secunderabad Railway Station in a big way. Ever since the online services started in 2017, the number of devotees making use of the services has been steadily increasing.

Ever since the online services started in 2017, the number of devotees making use of the services has been steadily increasing.
On an average, 2,500 to 5,000 devotees use online services every day to avoid the immediate rush at the temple. Online services help in a big way as one saves time, make arrangement for parking and avoid last-minute rush.
Century-old Ganesh temple near Secunderabad Railway Station celebrates Ganesh chaturthi in a grand scale. Around 10,000 devotees visit the temple every day during the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities.
Speaking to The Hans India, Superintendent of the Ganesh Temple Narayana Murthy said, "Sankashtahara Ganesha Chaturthi is one of the most celebrated monthly 'Vrathams' in the temple. A large number of devotees visit the temple on Tuesday and Friday during this festive season."
The Hundi collection during the festival season is between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 25 lakh. During other months, the collection is Rs 7 lakh per month. Parking is a major hassle at the temple. Temple priests say that there has also been a dip in devotees due to lack of parking.
Rahu Ketu puja, Abishekam, Antaralaya Archana, Archana, Kalyanam, Ganpathi Homam, Mudupu, Shanthi Pooja are common in every season and can be booked online whenever required according to the time slot. For monthly poojas, Vinayaka Shanthi prakaram (Rs 551) and Sankastahara Chaturthi (Rs 300) must be booked in advance.
