Allwyn Colony: Corporator Dodla Vekatesh Goud asserted here on Thursday that all steps were being taken to check mosquito menace in the Allwyn Colony division. Following complaints of mosquito menace by the residents of Yellamma Cheruvu and adjoining colonies, he responded immediately and took up removal of hyacinth from the water body along with the GHMC entomology staff.
Goud found that the hyacinth was blocking the water flow, resulting in hatching of mosquito eggs and spread of the menace. He said steps were being taken as and when necessary to prevent the spread of mosquitoes in the colonies. Among those present were supervisor Narsimha, ward members Chinnolla Srinivas, TRS leaders Shivaraj Goud, Nagabushnam, Siddayya, Narsimlu, Velu, Ramchandar, Maruthi and Raji Reddy.
