In the view of the GHMC elections, the election commission directed the officials to stop receiving applications from the flood victims temporarily at the Mee-Seva centres. It also stated that the relief aid would be provided to the people after the GHMC elections.

On Tuesday, many people turned up at Mee-Seva centres to apply for the flood-aid of Rs 10,000. The flood-relief amount will be credited into the beneficiary account within a day after submitted the application at Mee-Seva. However, the process will be resumed after the election.

The election commission issued the GHMC election schedule on Tuesday and election code came into effect from today. The elections are scheduled to be held on December 1.
