Hyderabad: The City Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar on Saturday visited the Distribution, Reception and Counting (DRC) Center at Prof G Ramreddy Centre for Distance Education, Osmania University (OU) along with Senior IPS officers and took stock of the security arrangements.

While interacting with media, he said, "The city police ensure that the elections are conducted in a fair and transparent manner in coordination with GHMC and State Election Commission (SEC). We are ready to face any situation for the upcoming polls."

"We have inspected the Strong Room, Counting Room at DRC Center, working of CCTV Cameras at centers and spoke to the authorities about arrangements. While conducting the checking of vehicles we found over crores and nine cases were registered against such persons.

The money was handed over to the IT department as per the directions of the Election Commission," stated the officer.

He further added, "There are 75 lakh voters in Hyderabad and every voter shall come out and exercise their right of voting. Moreover, during the MCC we do not want anyone to carry more than Rs 50,000 with them to avoid any kind of problems. If anyone is carrying more than the specified amount, then they shall produce the required documents for the amount.
