Hyderabad: MA&UD Minister KTR inaugurated prestigious projects and laid stone for some others in Kukatpally on Thursday. He participated in inauguration of 2BHK houses, fish market and indoor stadium. Later, he laid foundation stone for railway over bridge (RoB) at Kaithalpur. The total cost of the development programmes is put at Rs 101.69 crore.

Labour Minister Chamakura Mallareddy, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, MLCs Naveen Kumar, Sambipur Raju, MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao, GHMC Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, Medchal District Collector MV Reddy and others participated in the programme.

KTR first inaugurated 108 2-BHK houses which are built at a cost of Rs 9.34 crore at Chittaram Basthi city and handed over them to beneficiaries. The cost of each house is Rs 8.65 lakh which is of 560 sqft area and consists of cellar and stilt. Beneficiaries of the houses thanked KTR for allotting them. Later KTR, Mallareddy, Mayor Rammohan conducted puja along with the beneficiaries at the new houses. Division Corporator Konduru Narendra Charya also participated in the programme.

2 indoor stadiums inaugurated

To avail of facilities for sports, two indoor stadiums which are constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 6.51 crore in Kukatpally division were inaugurated by the MAUD Minister. A shuttle indoor stadium was constructed at a cost of Rs 86 lakh at Ayyappa Society in Gayatri Nagar. Later, he inaugurated another indoor stadium at Kukatpally Phase-VI which was constructed at a cost of Rs 5.65 crore. It is built in two floors and consists of a swimming pool, badminton courts, cafeteria and rooms for indoor games in it.

Modern fish Market

A wholesale modern fish market which was constructed at a cost of Rs 2.78 crore in an area of 1,651 sq metres was inaugurated by the Minister. National Fisherman Development Organisation gave Rs 2.25 crore for the construction of the market and the remaining Rs 53.2 lakhs was given by GHMC. The market consists of 81 fish stalls out of which two have been dedicated to wholesale stalls and six dry fish stalls. A food court is also arranged in the market. The construction of the market will be helpful to fishermen and Mudiraj communities to develop their business.

Foundation for RoB

KTR laid foundation stone to the Railway over Bridge (RoB) works at Kaithalapur. The total cost allotted to the project is Rs 83 crore. Railways allotted Rs 18.06 crore for the construction of the bridge and the remaining Rs 65 crore was given by GHMC. They allotted Rs 40 crore for RoB approach roads construction and Rs 25 crore for property acquisition. The dimensions of the bi-directional RoB is 676x16.61 metres. Traffic hurdles at JNTU Junction, Malaysian township, Hi-Tec City flyover, Cyber Towers junction, Madhapur, Balanagar, Sanath Nagar and some other areas will be reduced.
