Uppal: Amberpet MLA Kaleru Venkatesh on Wednesday described festivals as reflection of religious tolerance. Speaking after Muslims offered special prayers in Municipal grounds to mark Ramzan festival, he greeted the gathering.

Venkatesh stated that Ramzan was a holy festival for Muslims and that Amberpet residents were known for religious tolerance. This, he observed, was a welcome sign. The legislator suggested to people to live in harmony with brotherhood.

After fasting for 45 days, Muslims are wearing new clothes offered prayers to celebrate the festival. They exchanged greetings. Among those present at the prayers and greeted the gathering were former minister Krishna Yadav, Nallakunta corporator Gariganti Sridevi, senior TDP leader Vanam Ramesh and leaders of various parties.
