Gachibowli: The residents of Anjaiah Nagar have given up on GHMC and taken it up on their own to clean up roads. The road has become a malodorous junction with all the garbage being dumped on the corner. The locals can't commute as half of the road has been covered with the garbage.

"We have been facing this problem past three months. GHMC people responded only once to remove the garbage but now no one is responding to us. Due to GHMC negligence, we took the responsibility of cleaning up the road but it is not possible to clean it every time. We went to the GHMC office regarding this. They replied they have a shortage of garbage vans.

Dogs, cows, and goats are always wandering there, to feed on leftovers. Their feces is causing stench in the area. We want the GHMC to look into this issue and resolve it as it is getting miserable day by day. We can't take our vehicles from the slush, leave alone walking there. The place emits foul smell which can be unhealthy for locals, especially kids. Do the officials want us to clean it every time and ignore their job?" asked a local resident.
