Secunderabad: BJP leader and Secunderabad MP Kishan Reddy's call to well-wishers to bring books instead of garlands has struck a chord and people started pouring in with books.
Inspired by his message, several party workers who visited him brought notebooks and presented to him. On Monday, Greater Hyderabad BJYM president C Rajesh Kumar, who paid a visit to the MP's residence to congratulate him along with his team, donated notebooks.
Later, speaking to the media, Rajesh Kumar said that only a few leaders like Kishan Reddy could come up with such noble ideas. He said that every leader should take him as role model and implement such great practices to help poor.
Rajesh was accompanied by BJYM activists M Sainath, Ganesh Neta, Puja Neta, P Harish, Ramesh and others. Kishan Reddy appealed to people not to bring expensive bouquets, flower garlands and shawls but asked them to bring notebooks so that he could donate them to poor students who cannot afford to buy notebooks.
He urged them to start this ideal practice which could help poor students to continue with their studies. The practice could also help poor families who cannot afford to provide education to their children, Kishen added. People from different regions are appreciating the idea and are making a bee-line to the leaders residence and office.
