Vikarabad: A sarpanch acted promptly and displayed his commitment to the Haritha Haram programme prestigiously taken up by the government. Barwadi village Sarpanch in Kotpalli mandal saw a goat eating a plant which was planted during Haritha Haram programme.
He found that the goat belonged to one Nagaiah's family of the village. He told them to plant 25 saplings for each sapling that was eaten by their goat. The family obliged and planted 25 saplings in the presence of the sarpanch. Speaking on the occasion, the sarpanch said whoever showed their negligence towards the Haritha Haram would be dealt with severely.
