Basheerbagh: The Student JAC of Nizam College has called upon people to strive for saving forests of the state. The students organised a rally on the premises of the college on Monday and raised the slogans 'Save nature – save nation.'

Speaking to media, students demanded that the central government withdraw its ordinance allowing mining of Uranium in pristine forests of Nallamala. Survival of humankind would be in peril if forests were destroyed for resources, they said. They hailed the state government decision not to allow uranium mining in Nallamala forests.

They warned the central government of waging a movement if the ordinance was not withdrawn. Nizam College JAC leader Lakshmi Narayana, Vinod Chari, Sadiq, Bheemesh, Shiva, Uttam, Narender and others participated in the rally and protest.
