Rachakonda police warn aspirants of touts, cheats

Rachakonda: The verification of the certificates of candidates who qualified in various Final Written Examinations (FWEs) in the ongoing recruitment process commenced at LB Nagar CP's camp office. It will go on till June 22.

In any recruitment process, towards the final stage, cheats and touts become active and try to make money by deceiving gullible candidates with false promises, cautions the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.

The police strongly cautioned the candidates to beware of those unscrupulous elements who try to dupe innocent unemployed youth with false promises of providing them jobs. Candidates are warned not to believe them or give any money to such people. If they do so, such candidates automatically become ineligible for the all the recruitment opportunities of the government in the present as well as future.

The police also announced a reward up to Rs 1 lakh for any information leading to busting of touts and cheats. Candidates are advised to inform the police or TSLPRB authorities or contact the commissionerate on dial 100 or Rachakonda whatsapp no 9490617111, to pass on information on cheats/touts/brokers. Their details will be kept confidential, assured the cops in a press release.

Some of the dubious methods employed by the cheats are as follows

 Seeking deposit of a considerable amount of money in a joint bank account or with a mediator, which will be taken away fully by the broker if the candidate is successful in getting a job. Obviously, the broker is making money by playing on the chances of the candidate;

 They pretend to make fake phone calls or set up sham meetings with their accessories/ associates to make the candidates believe that the broker has an insider-contact who is influential enough to get the job. In some instances, the candidate will be taken to the Secretariat/government offices and will be made to wait outside while the tout pretends to be meeting senior political or bureaucratic functionaries;

 They tell the candidates that there will be quotas of so-many posts/vacancies set aside for senior political/bureaucratic functionaries which can be bought by paying large amounts of money in bribes; and

 They use forged/fake documents and videos, e-mails and website posts and other forms of communication in order to to make their false claims look authentic.
