As part of this policy, Christmas gift bags are being distributed to Christians, he said, after handing over new clothes to the poor in Yeru Shalem Church in Rajiv Gruhakalpa.
Wishing that the poor happily celebrate Christmas, he announced gift of Rs 1 lakh for holding the festival feast in 35 churches in the division, in addition to the government assistance of Rs 50,000. The corporator cut a cake to mark the festival and fed it to poor Christians and pastors. Later, he inaugurated a free health camp set up by foreigners at Nishoros A G Church in Papireddynagar. Medicines were given to the needy.
