Hyderabad: The teachers of government schools in Hyderabad district wore black badges during the lunch hour in protest against the State government for not settling the demands of striking TSRTC employees.

The call for lunch hour protest was given by state committee JACTO-USPC. Teachers from 200 schools across Hyderabad took part in the protest and wore black badges.

M Ravindar, from the Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation (TPTF), said, "We demanded that the government should resolve all issues of the RTC employees and protect the lands and properties of RTC."

Further, he said, "We also demanded that the government announce pending DA and implement the new PRC by getting the report of pay revision commission with respectable fitment benefits. We asked the government to improve the quality of education in the State by appointing regular teachers and complete the issue of promotions which are pending for the last six years."
