Water body faces trash trouble

Madhapur: Locals are distressed as garbage is being dumped in a water body in Vittal Rao Nagar. The polluted water body is posing a serious health hazard to the locals living nearby.

The locals alleged that there has been no cleaning or removing the garbage from the GHMC workers and the patch has been emitting malodorous smell. Mosquito menace has become a serious issue here.

A local resident deplored, "The place has also become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and is contaminating the water body and groundwater. Everyone is falling sick because of mosquitoes. We have informed the civic authorities. But none of them is responding to our pleas."
