Cricketer Trisha puts Bhadrachalam on global map

The locals burst into celebration when the temple town girl Trisha played key role in the victory of India Women Cricket Team winning the Under-19 T20 World Cup
Khammam: Ever since India Women Under-19 cricket team have won the T20 World Cup held in Potchefstroom, South Africa, on January 29, a video clip of cricketer Gongadi Trisha has become an instant hit on social media.
"Everyone is waiting for this day," Trisha said, responding to the TV commentator's question, "What does the India team's victory really mean for the fans back home in Bhadrachalam?" Indeed the locals were amused to find their temple town, Bhadrachalam, got recognition on the international level.
An extraordinary true story based on the life of a man and his two daughters. An inspirational journey of a father who trains his daughters to become world champions in wrestling competition was seen in the Bollywood movie Dangal. What most inspiring was a bond between the daughters and her father.
Here in real life, the same is seen repeating in the agency headquarters of Bhadrachalam, a temple town.
The father strived for his only daughter for the last fifteen years to fulfill his dream. She felt happy about fulfilling his dream and played a key role in winning the Indian Women Cricket Team (U-19). She felt happy that her father's hard work paid off.
The news of 17-year-old Gongadi Trisha, member of victorious Indian Woman Under -19 Cricket team was published all newspapers and had gone viral on TV channels and social media platforms.
When she was chosen for the Indian Women -19 Cricket Team, her native town Bhadrachalam was known on the national level.
With Trisha's efforts, the team won the world cup, and now her name and Bhadrachalam became famous in the country. The people in the temple town and erstwhile Khammam district witnessed a pride moment they saw the Indian Women Cricket Under-19 team winning the world cup on TV and they celebrated the moment grandly.
But behind the success of Trisha, her father, G Rami Reddy, a former hockey player, who ran a gym in the temple town. He did a part-time job in the ITC paper board company in Sarapaka as a gym trainer.
His daughter Trisha was born in the year 2005. Trisha started batting when she was four-year-old and played cricket in Bhadrachalam grounds. To realize his dream of making star cricketer, he shifted along with his family to Hyderabad, and sold four acres of his farmland to support his daughter.
Speaking to The Hans India, he expressed happiness after fulfilling his dream and seeing his daughter Trisha playing a key role in the Indian team winning the world cup was a proud moment.
