For the first time in the history of Andhra Pradesh or for that matter in the history of India, the State government called for tenders to construct a church in Rompicharla mandal in Guntur district

Vijayawada: For the first time in the history of Andhra Pradesh or for that matter in the history of India, the State government called for tenders to construct a church in Rompicharla mandal in Guntur district. Generally, the government in a secular State is neither religious nor irreligious. It does not interfere in the activities of any religion. It shall not promote any religion. In case of the construction of temples, the TTD allocates funds for them.

Various foreign countries provide funds for the construction of churches or mosques. But the government does not interfere in the construction of any religious place. The Panchayat Raj Engineering department invited tenders on November 20 for the construction of Bethal Christian Brethern Trust Church at the mandal headquarters of Rompicharla of Guntur district.

As per the tender notice, the church should be constructed in six months at an estimated cost of Rs 8,72, 663 and the contractors of Class V and above may apply online by December 21.
