A scrutiny of the COVID-19 data shows that Maharashtra and Gujarat continue to be the worst-affected states in the country. Maharashtra has reported 23,401 Coronavirus positive cases so far, nearly a third of the total number of cases in the country.

Maharashtra has reported 868 deaths and 4786 cases of recovery to date. Mumbai has contributed 20% of the total number of cases in the country reporting 14,355 cases so far. On Monday, the Maximum City reported 791 new cases. Mumbai has recorded 528 deaths up until now.

Gujarat has also been recording high numbers of COVID-19 positive cases. The state has so far reported 8541 coronavirus positive cases and 513 deaths. The mortality rate in Gujarat has been high. The state has recorded 2780 cases of recovered patients.

Tamil Nadu is behind Gujarat with 8002 confirmed cases of coronavirus and a much lower mortality rate of 53 deaths. Tamil Nadu has reported 2051 cases of recovered patients.

Madhya Pradesh has recorded a very high death rate reporting 221 fatalities on account of COVID-19. The state has reported 3785 COVID-19 cases and 1747 cases of recoveries.

West Bengal and Rajasthan have also reported high death rates. West Bengal has reported 2063 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and 190 deaths with 499 cases of recovered patients.

Rajasthan has reported 3988 cases of Coronavirus positive patients with 113 deaths and 2264 cases of recovered patients.
