At least 20 people were killed, and several others sustained injuries in a road accident when a speeding bus collided with an auto, causing both vehicles to fall into well near Malegaon. The accident happened on busy Malegaon-Deola road in Nashik on Tuesday.

At the time of the accident, there were nearly 40 passengers on the bus which is operated the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). Immediately, the rescue operation was launched to bring out the victims out of the well.

On the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to kin of each deceased. The police have registered a case and probing the cause of the accident.
