Melania Trump also lauded the efforts of the teachers in promoting reading activities and encouraging students to read books of their choice. The US first lady commended the contribution of the teachers who are setting positive examples for young people.

The US First Lady Melania Trump visited the Sarvodaya Senior Secondary School at Nanakpura in Motibagh in Delhi on Tuesday. She interacted with students in the school and also saw how the happiness part of the curriculum was handled by the teachers and students. This included a class of meditation and a yoga performance. She remarked in her address at the end that these aspects were very important aspects of positive development.

The US First Lady spent quality time with the teachers and students at the school run by the Delhi government. She interacted with the students at the end, shook hands with them and hugged a girl, as well. The happiness part of the school's curriculum deals with how students need to deal with stress and pressure especially when it comes to facing academic challenges, including examinations. It was introduced by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi schools in 2017.

The US First Lady was gifted Madhubani paintings by the students of the school.

Melania Trump said that she was delighted with the warmth and kindness of the Indian people and was grateful for the warm welcome she and President Trump received.
