NASA releases images of the moon capture by Chandrayaan-2

Striking picture of the moon showing craters has been captured by the Chandrayaan-2.

On July 22, Indian mission Chandrayaan-2 took off from the Satish Dhawan Space centre In Sriharikota.

Earlier this month, Chandrayaan-2 lander, Vijram had attempted a soft landing at the lunar region whose high-resolution images had been released by, the US space agency, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

A striking picture of the moon showing craters has been captured by the Chandrayaan-2. ISRO had also shared an image of Earth which was captured.

In the city of Kanpur, people had offered prayers for the success of the mission. Chandrayaan-2 will explore the region of the moon where no mission has set foot.
