Chennai: Megastar and Tamil icon Rajinikanth on Thursday, pledged to clean up the system by entering politics soon. He said that lately he had discussed important issues such as Article 370 and construction Ram Mandir with his followers. He came to the conclusion that there was a dire need for a massive clean-up of the system. Rajinikanth's announcement comes a year ahead of assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

Rajinikanth added that since 2017 he had been contemplating entering politics. The megastar pointed out that the system is highly corrupt. Rajinikanth pledged to change the existing state of affairs and asked for people to join him in a pan-Indian movement.

In every matter, work is based on corrupt practices, Rajinikanth said. He said that in his scheme of things there would be no room for corruption. Money power reigns supreme and things will change he said.

Rajinikanth pointed out that there is no room for new leaders in parties he said. Nepotism and favouritism rule the roost in political parties, he said.

Rajinikanth added that he would set criteria with regard to age as also educational qualifications in his party.

The mega star remarked that qualified people, retired civil servants and judges keep themselves away from politics. He said that he would utilise the talent of experienced people in his party. Similarly women would also be accorded due importance in his political outfit he said.

Rajinikanth said that the same person running the government and the party is not a healthy practice. He also said that political parties should be accountable to the public.

Rajnikant clarified that he was not interested in becoming a chief minister or enjoying a position. He would choose to remain in the party, he added.
