News Delhi: As the sexual assault on women is rising across the country, where another horrific incident has come into light in Delhi.
In the incident, a woman alleged that her maternal uncle raped her for 36 years. The victim approached Delhi High Court that she was raped since she was 4-year-old and sought protection from her uncle.
The woman said to the court that she was first raped by her uncle in 1981, and by the time she reached the 10th class, she got abortions three times. When she told the matter with the family members, they scolded her and told her not to disclose it with anyone.
She further said that he continued to harass even after her marriage and in 2014 she took divorce from her husband, after that he started harassing her every day. The victim expressed her anguish that she filed a complaint against her uncle in 2016 and by keeping that in mind, she was not allowed to see her mother's face when she died in the same year.
For filing FIR against her uncle, his son's and other family members also threatened to kill her. As the case came for the hearing in the court on Monday, Additional Sessions Judge Umed Singh Grewal framed charges against the man.
