Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, fondly called as Babasaheb Ambedkar, was an economist, educationist, politician, social reformer and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. on the occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's 128th Birth anniversary, we have compiled a list of rare and unseen photographs of the father and architect of the Indian Constitution.

Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, fondly called as Babasaheb Ambedkar, was an economist, educationist, politician, social reformer and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. He fought all his life against discrimination, degradation, and deprivation in Indian society. He was born to Bhimabai Murbadkar Sakpal and Ramji Maloji Sakpal on April 14, 1891, in Madhya Pradesh. He faced isolation in school because of his caste. He became the only untouchable to get the Elphinstone High School and later to the Elphinstone college. He obtained his degree in economics and political science from the Elphinstone College, affiliated to the University to the Bombay, present-day Unversity of Mumbai. He pursued his Masters in Economics at the Columbia University and Doctor of Science in Economics from London School of Economics with the help of a Scholarship.

At the age of 15, in 1906, he married a 9-year-old Ramabai. she passed away in 1935 after a prolonged illness. In the late 1940s, Ambedkar suffered lack of sleep and had neuropathic pain in the legs. He visited Mumbai for his treatment and met Dr. Sharada Kabir, whom he married her on April 15, 1948. She adopted the name Savita Ambedkar for the rest of her life.

In 1947, after India gained Independence, he was offered the post of first Law Minister and was appointed as chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee on August 29, 1947. He wanted to burn the constitution if it did not take into consideration the welfare of the minorities. On November 26, 1949, the Indian Constitution Assembly. In 1990, he was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award.
