New Delhi: The murder of a Swiss woman, whose body with limbs and legs bound with chains was found near a school in West Delhi on October 20, has left a series of difficult conundrums for the public to understand, further deepening the mystery.

For the horrific crime, the police arrested a 30-year-old man named Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Jankapuri in west Delhi, who claimed himself as a jilted lover of the Swiss national.

As the probe process continues, certain aspects of the case have raised eyebrows. Chief among these is the motive behind the heinous murder.

Initial interrogation of prime accused Gurpreet Singh has revealed that the victim, Nina Berger, came to India on his invitation just 10 days back. They had established contact through social media a couple of years ago, which prompts the question as to what prompted him to invite her to India? Was this a premeditated move, or did the intention to harm Nina arise later?

Singh reportedly confessed that he murdered Nina after she rejected his marriage proposal, but his statements have been inconsistent throughout questioning, leaving room for doubts.

A scrutiny of Gurpreet's mobile phone has reportedly unveiled his interactions with numerous women, including foreign nationals. This has raised suspicion of a potential link with human trafficking, an angle which the police are actively exploring.

Adding to the intrigue, over Rs 2 crore in cash was recovered from Gurpreet's residence in Janakpuri, which raises the question as to how did he come into possession of such considerable sum of money?

In-depth scrutiny of Gurpreet's bank account has revealed substantial financial transactions, prompting investigators to alert the Income Tax authorities. The large sums and the unaccounted cash have further fueled concerns that the case may have ties to human trafficking.

An unsettling aspect of this tragedy is the evidence of injuries on the victim, including cuts and burn marks, implying she may have been tortured before being killed. Investigators are also exploring the possibility of the involvement of accomplices in this brutal act.

The locks and chains used to restrain the woman were reportedly acquired just two days prior to the incident from a market in West Delhi. However, the specific details of this purchase remain undisclosed, raising the question as to whether these restraints were part of some black magic, leading to her strangulation.
