Hyderabad: Union Minister for Science and Technology S Jaipal Reddy on Wednesday gave ample indication that there was no question of the party goiong back on its decision to bifurcate the state. Reddy who had called on the Governor E S L Narsimhan on Wednesday told the HMTV that the party leadership was fully aware of the repercussions as well as the political fallout of the decision to bifurcate the state.
He said the high command was fully aware of the fact that Congress party was in a bad shape in the state and whether it took a decision in favour of bifurcating the state or to keep it united, the political fortunes would not change for better. Congress party always looks at larger interests of the people and the country, he said.
Calling his meeting with the Governor as a courtesy call, the union minister ruled out the possibility of imposing President’s rule. He said the high command had taken note of the ongoing agitation in Seemandhra region and the issues being raised by the people and leaders. The party leadership will certainly address all those issues. This may result in little slowdown of the process to carve a separate state but there is no question of stopping it, he said.
