Restrictions on jobless to avail of unemployment support
All youngsters who have completed education and failed to get employment or any source of livelihood may not be part of the much-awaited unemployment support (NirudyogaBhriti) programme as the State government had set eligibility criteria which would be an obstacle for them.

The State government had already collected data of unemployed from all households through its Smart Pulse Survey and the info would be utilised for selecting beneficiaries for the support and here the real turmoil likely to surface.
The survey gives entire picture of the family and its revenue sources which in fact would be a constraint for the jobless for getting the support from the State government.
The eligibility criteria would be similar to other programmes and the drawbacks likely to haunt the beneficiary as there should not be any kind of source earlier such as a small bank loan, private employment where salary is being paid through a bank account, or any visible property like any car.
The State government is considering a support in the range of Rs1,000-Rs1,500 per month which would be decided later. Until then district officials are conducting workshops with the jobless, heads of educational institutions, experts in banking, industry and others to get their feedback.
A software has already been prepared for validating eligibility criteria and it automatically deletes the existence of registry as soon as the jobless attains the age of 35 years.
So, the government would not extend any support after the age, and the youngsters have to scout for any employment or source of livelihood before the deadline. In case a youngster avails a small bank loan of Rs 1 to 2 lakhs, they would not be considered as jobless and lose support from the government, according to sources.
“We are conducting workshop for the jobless in the district headquarters on Dec 20 for collecting suggestions from them. Principals of engineering and other professional colleges; experts in banking, industry, and others also participate and give their suggestions on how to move further for the programme in a holistic way,” said DR C Subrahmanyam, CEO of SETNEL.
These workshops would be useful for the youngsters for getting on hand information on various kinds of sources available from the government, banks and through welfare programmes for chalking out their plans for creating an environment for sustainability through self-employment or to select a job in any private sector.
