Vision Foundation has adopted 109 government libraries in Krishna district under its Vidya Darshini initiative. It reached a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zilla Grandhalaya Samastha (ZGS) in this regard. ZGS Chairman Edupuganti Venkatramaiah and Vision Foundation president G Vijaya Kumar signed the MoU in the presence of Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkatramaiah hailed the foundation for coming forward to develop the libraries as model ones. Vijaya Kumar said basic infrastructure would be provided to all the libraries. “In the first phase, some selected libraries would be developed as e-libraries for the benefit of students appearing for competitive examinations.

A mobile app would be unveiled and study material would be distributed to job aspirants to enable them to fare well in the competitive exams. Steps would also be taken to make the libraries self-reliant,” he said. Vision Foundation CEO R Madhu and others were also present.
