The pressure of society to have a perfect figure is enormous and life doesn’t go too well for people prone to cholesterol deposition in assorted parts of the anatomy. Offhandedly referred to as ‘glab’, deposition of fat in the body is a raging concern especially considering the growing incidence of sedentary lifestyle.
No matter how hard one might sweat it out on exercise and burn their appetite, the rigid fat always stays on and does not easily find a way out. A recent technological advancement called ‘Cryolipolysis’ is gaining popularity among the folks of the city, who are figure conscious.
For being the non-invasive technique, the otherwise called ‘Cool Sculpting’ treatment is proved to be effective in melting that extra fat with non physical pain or blood loss.
Experts in the city are heralding this procedure as a revolutionary new concept in weight loss. Though it only aids in burning fat, more number of patients who are reconciling liposuction are turning towards this surgery for losing fat and getting into shape.
The process gradually extracts body heat from the subcutaneous levels of fat (the layer that lies just under the skin. The temperature of the fat cells goes right down to zero degrees celsius - literally freezing them. Extremely low temperatures kill the fat cells without affecting either the skin or muscles. The dead cells are then removed naturally by the body.
Speaking to The Hans India, Dr Kella Sridevi, MD at the Gems Femme World says, “For those with stubborn pockets of flab, the treatment could be a breakthrough. Patients are seeing impressive results on thicker and smaller areas of fat, such as love handles (the fat on the side of the hips), pot bellies and back rolls.
Not just young women but we do have clients from several officers working in various government departments. They gave a positive feedback which is encouraging many to try the procedure, which is completely, hassle free.”
K Sushma, an entrepreneur who underwent the procedure shares, “I was very apprehensive over the procedure though it is approved by the FDI. For a city like Vijayawada, I doubted the professionalism. However after taking a couple of sittings, I notice change and felt really good.
I was able to shift to my earlier clothes. An advice is that this procedure only helps to reduce a few inches of fat and is not recommended for people looking for serious weight loss. However, diet and exercise maintenance will enable one to have a long lasting impact.”
To cater the needs of this growing trend, there are a need for good number of cosmetology clinics, med spas and certified salon centers offering the procedure. Infact, the services have become as common as cosmetic help for skin corrections. The price per session starts at Rs 5,000 and varies depending on the need of sittings and thickness of the fat.
