Football enjoys a huge fan following in India. Thus, this football season, Mercedes-Benz has decided to tap this huge market and bring in more numbers for its entry-level range of cars by introducing new special editions of the A-Class, GLA and CLA in the country.

Football enjoys a huge fan following in India. Thus, this football season, Mercedes-Benz has decided to tap this huge market and bring in more numbers for its entry-level range of cars by introducing new special editions of the A-Class, GLA and CLA in the country. These special edition variants of A-Class, GLA and CLA are priced between Rs 25.95 to Rs 35.26 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

The special edition cars are fitted with AMG body kits with front and rear bumper, side skirts as well as the AMG carbon fibre mirror cover. Some of the other standard features that the cars get include Mercedes-Benz ‘Sport Edition’ badge, Stainless Steel Sports Pedals, Black Hub Caps and Black Valve Cap. The special edition variant of these cars will be available only for a limited time period until 10th July.

Mercedes-Benz has kicked-off the special edition cars to commemorate the UEFA Euro Championship which began in France last week. The sports edition of the A180 petrol hatchback is priced at Rs 25.95 lakhs while that of the A200d diesel is tagged at Rs 26.95 lakhs. The CLA 200 sedan is priced at Rs 33.24 lakhs whereas the diesel CLA 200d is retailed for Rs 34.25 lakhs. The much popular GLA 200 crossover can be bought at Rs 34.23 lakhs and GLA 200d diesel is priced at Rs 35.26 lakhs.

Mechanically the cars remain the same and see no changes in powertrain options. The A-Class is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 122 BHP and a 2.2-litre diesel motor belting out 136 BHP. The CLA and GLA are propelled by the same above-mentioned diesel engine with the same output while petrol power comes from a 2.0-litre petrol mill generating 181 horses.
