Dancer Bhagavatula Sowmya presented Kuchipudi recital in the monthly programme organised by the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada & Amaravathi at Madhu Mahalaxmi Complex recently.

The Cultural Centre has provided a platform not only just to exhibit the talent of young and professional but also to demonstrate the art forms in the same venue.

As a part of the monthly programme, Sowmya has commenced her dance recital traditionally with Saraswati puja and later followed with the items Amaravathi song written by Venkataratnam, Annamacharya keerthana “Ksheerabdhi Kanyakaku” and the composition of Adi Sankaracharya “Mahishasura mardhani”.

With her rich experience and talent Sowmya captured the attention of the gathering. In the same recital Jahnavi and Likhita, disciples of Sowmya, showcased classical dance “Manasa sancharare” (Sadasivabrahmendra keerthana) and “Paluke bangaramayane” (Ramadasu). Sowmya was felicitated by the organisers on the same platform.
