A two-day World Space Week Celebrations will be organized in the historical city of Rajamahendravaram on September 5 and 6, in the premises of Government College (Autonomous), under the aegis of Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The programme was aimed to bring awareness among the people mainly students about the advantages of space applications.

A two-day World Space Week Celebrations will be organized in the historical city of Rajamahendravaram on September 5 and 6, in the premises of Government College (Autonomous), under the aegis of Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The programme was aimed to bring awareness among the people mainly students about the advantages of space applications.

During the two days, quiz competitions will be conducted for the students studying sixth to 12th class on the topics, space, rocket/space/satellite/astronomy/science and technology. Painting competitions also held for the students studying first to fifth standard.

A science fair is also to be organized for all the students and models related to rocket, space, satellites, along with innovative ideas in science and technology are to be displayed in the fair. On September 5, walk for space will also be conducted at 4 PM from the venue.

Speaking to reporters in his chamber college principal Dr R David Kumar has said that from September 4 to 10, world space week celebrations will be held across the world. The celebrations will be held in 22 centres across South India.

As many as 40,000 students and 15 scientists will participate in the two-day world space week celebrations in the city.

ISRO scientists G Satya Sundar, G Venkatesh, vice principal K Anjanayulu, KRR Rao and RR Kumar were present at the presser.
