AP Janmabhoomi is an initiative of the government to involve NRIs in the development of the state. Leading the movement, Jayaram Komati, special representative of the AP Government in North America, motivated the NRIs to open 2,000 plus classrooms in Andhra Pradesh in the past one year. Each digital classroom cost about Rs 1.5 lakh, where the NRI community contributes 30 percent and the government shares 70 percent.

On Friday, Parchur MLA, Eluri Sambasivarao inaugurated the digital classroom donated by Mamidipaka Mallikharjuna Rao for the Mandal Parishad Upper Primary School at Jonnatali village in Martur mandal.

Post the inauguration, he said that Komati Jayaram was working with an aim to provide digital classrooms across 5,000 schools, develop 1,000 Aanganwadi centers and 1000 burial grounds. “Jayaram is uniting the non-resident Telugus abroad and collecting funds for this noble cause to provide infrastructure in schools and villages under the banner of AP Janmabhoomi,” he declared.

He asked AP Janmabhoomi to continue inspiring many Telugus and partner with them to remodel Navyandhra. The DEO, Subbarao, along with the MLA, local ZPTC, MPP, AMC Chairman and others felicitated the relative of the Mallikharjuna Rao for donating the digital classroom.

The first of the four digital classrooms was donated and inaugurated by Paturi Venkat at MPUPS in Chilukur village in Marripudi mandal. Venkat said that it was the initiation of Jayaram, that made him contribute for the digital classroom. He promised to extend more support in the future. The second digital classroom at the MPPS Eethamukkala in Kothapatnam mandal was donated by Munagala Srinivasarao and is inaugurated by his mother Chennamma.

The third classroom at Muktinuthalapadu village in Ongole mnadal was donated by Adusumilli Venkat and is inaugurated by his kin, K Raghava Rao. The last donation was made by Muppaneni Subbarao for the MPPS in Naguluppalapadu and is inaugurated by his relative Marella Venkata Rao.
