Kickboxer Nikhita gets pat from civic chief
Municipal Commissioner V Vijayarama Raju congratulated Nikhita Devi in his chamber here on Thursday, who bagged gold medal in national-level Kickboxing tournaments. The tournments were held from January 16 to 21 in New Delhi.

She will represent the state in international Kickboxing tournaments scheduled to be held from February 6 in Mumbai. She is the only student who bagged the gold medal.
Earlier, Nikhita Devi bagged three gold medals in district-level tournaments. Nikhita Devi is studying ninth class in International Paper Mills Model High School in the city. Coach Bhavani Shankar imparted training to Nikhita Devi.
The Commissioner asked her to come with flying colors in international Kickboxing tournaments also. He directed corporation manager Srinivasa Rao to make arrangements for her travel to Mumbai. Her father, Narasimha Murthi thanked the Commissioner for his arrangements for her trip to New Delhi.
