Guntur: Deputy Transport Commissioner Rajaratnam, has informed that they booked 2,012 cases against the auto rickshaw drivers for overload so far.
He said that overloading of passengers was leading to the road accidents and accidental deaths. They had collected Rs 1.45 crore penalty from the auto drivers for overloading of the passengers. He said they are conducting surprise checks and verifying the documents. They imposed penalty for overloading of passengers and suspending the driving license of the auto drivers for three months, if they repeatedly violate the norms. He warned that they would take stern action, if they repeatedly violate the guidelines.
