Alert Ongole Child Line to rescue children
DSP traffic K Venugopala Rao has directed the police constables to immediately alert the Ongole Child Line by calling 1098 if they come across children begging, picking rags, mothers begging along with babies and auto-rickshaw drivers suspected of kidnapping the girls.

He was speaking at an awareness programme held here on Monday under the aegis of the Ongole Help-Child Line 1098.
He also asked the police to immediately alert the Child Line if they spotted lonely children at bus and railway stations begging. He said the Child Line will strive to give a good future to the children.
If anyone is forcing children to indulge in anti-social activities, legal action would be taken against them, he cautioned.
Help Line Programme Officer BV Sagar urged the police to immediately alert the Child Line in case they get information about child marriages taking place in the district. Similarly, he asked the police to alert the Child Line if they trafficking in girls came to their notice. Child Line coordinator N Manthru also took part in the programme.
