New Delhi : Two Telugus figured among Top 10 Central Bureaucrats who are considered the Most Powerful Indians in 2013, as per a survey by the Indian Express.

RBI Governor D Subbarao and K Raju, Additional Secretary in National Advisory Council (NAC) headed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, find themselves in the august company of Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Pulok Chatterjee, NSA Shiv Shankar Menon, CBI Director Ranjit Sinha, IB Director Asif Ibrahim, Home Secretary R K Singh, Economic Affairs Secretary Arvind Mayaram, Planning Commission Secretary Sindhushree Khullar and CAG Vinod Rai.

The survey also includes lists of top politicians, top bureaucrats, top industrialists, top talking heads, top sportspersons, top economists, top ad gurus, top fund managers, top activists and top headline hunters.A Duvvuri Subbarao who is the 22nd Governor of RBI is a 1972 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre.

He worked as Finance Secretary of Andhra Pradesh in 1993-98, and joined the World Bank as lead economist during 1994-2004. Later, he was taken on the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council from 2005 to 2007. He was elevated as Finance Secretary in 2007 and to the top RBI post the following year. At present, he is serving his second term. Koppula Raju is a top bureaucrat in the NAC that ensured that the Congress-led UPA Government does not lose sight of the social sectors. An officer of 1981 IAS batch of AP cadre, he was credited with achievements of poverty alleviation programmes in AP.

He served as District Collector in Nellore and Kurnool districts, and later as National Project Coordinator, UNDP-assisted South Asia Poverty Alleviation program (SAPAP). He was instrumental in setting up of Society for Elimination of Rural poverty in AP. He scaled up SAPAP's strategy of social mobilization and community empowerment for poverty reduction in the entire State. Later, he was elevated as Principal Secretary (Rural Development) and is now on deputation at NAC
