BJP Vice-President Bandaru Dattatreya on Monday asserted that people in Telangana are now looking to the BJP for realising the goal of achieving the separate State of Telangana. This was indicated by prominent Telangana leader and former Andhra Pradesh Minister Nagam Janardhan Reddy deciding to join the BJP. A BJP President Rajnath Singh would be present on the occasion when Nagam Janardhan Reddy is set to join the saffron party.
Bandaru Dattatreya, who earlier in the day called on BJP President Rajnath Singh and BJP veteran L K Advani and thanked them on his elevation as the BJP Vice-President, said, "This will create a new atmosphere. It is a good development, as the Telangana issue will continue to haunt the Congress, which betrayed the people of Telangana.
Nagam Janardhan Reddy joining the BJP signals a new trend. There are more political leaders in Telangana, who are thinking on similar lines."
