Onion sales through 9 Rythu Bazars

Hyderabad: Providing respite to the common man from the soaring onion prices, the government has made available 1507.73 quintals of onions to the consumers through nine Rythu Bazars so far this month. Onion supplies were made available by engaging a mobile van in Hyderabad since July 23 last. As part of the market intervention methods, onions were procured from the wholesale market of Mahabub Mansion Market, Malakpet and were made available to the public. So far 3319.31 quintals of onions were sold through Rythu Bazars at an average price of Rs 34 per kg.
